15,000 Square Foot Stone Mansion In Toronto With Indoor Pool

I sort of like this, but like most Toronto houses we see it’s quirky and has its share of issues. I think the front facade is nice, but yes it does have a face. I hate the way the garage looks; couldn’t they have put some nicer looking carriage-house style wooden doors? I also hate the corner cutout in the back. Speaking of the back, it’s now late June. I think the realtor should have taken some updated pictures of the back yard and pool/koi pond, pictures that don’t make it look abandoned.

As for the interior, there are some rooms that could be very nice. Most of the ground floor public rooms look like they could be very gracious and lovely, with the right decorator. There are also some wonky spaces. I don’t like the high-gloss floor in the dining room, but that could be changed. The master bathroom being wide open like it is, even if it opens to a closet/dressing room, is terrible. Then there’s the other bedroom with the shower that opens directly into the bedroom; who’s brilliant idea was that? The kitchen is also really, really, REALLY plain and I would expect more from an $8,000,000 house. Ultimately, there’s too much wrong with it to call it a decent house.
