Breaking Down $2.9 Million Project At Peerless Pool

The construction project has had to overcome several hurdles along the way, the biggest following the bidding process which was completed in March. When bids were opened by the advisory committee on March 28, the low bid was received by Fowler and Hammer, with a submitted bid of $3,311,000, which was 316,000 over the max referendum allowance. Making matters worse the overall cost of the project, including architectural fees (additional $190,000) and soft costs (additional $73,000 in consultation fess), brought the final project costs to $3,574,283, well over the original $2.7 to $2.9 million cost estimates projected last April prior to the referendum passage.
