A 3-year-old boy who was pulled from a backyard pool on Saturday in northeast Phoenix died at the hospital, officials said.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a drowning shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday near North Tatum Boulevard and East Union Hills Drive.
The boy's grandparents found him in the backyard pool, and the Phoenix Fire Department transported him in full cardiac arrest to Phoenix Children's Hospital, fire officials said.
By Saturday night, officials with the Phoenix Police Department confirmed the child had died.
It was unclear how long he had been in the pool, fire officials said.
